Bernie holds a BComm and MBA from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Bernie has held positions in a leadership capacity in a number of organisations including the Virgin Group, Novum, Performix, SteelTrace and Clarigen. She has over 25 years’ experience at a senior level in business, both in Ireland and internationally, in senior executive and consulting capacities.
In her role as CEO of Pragma, Bernie works with range of organisations, including media, manufacturing, food processing, services, technology, Government, the not-for-profit sector and sport dealing with the complex challenges that can be encountered in difficult economic times or when new market opportunities are being developed.
Bernie’s involvement with the third level sector includes membership of the DCU Educational Trust. The Trust undertakes fundraising and distribution of funds to create greater opportunities for access to third level education for disadvantaged students and the provision of other services to all students within DCU unavailable within Government or other funding envelopes. She has been involved with the Trust for ten years and also had an involvement with the delivery of post graduate programmes in Stanford University, TCD, DCU, UCD and DIT.
At heart, Bernie is a problem-solver and brings a creative and pragmatic approach to difficult situations.
